Société d'Histoire d'Aubervilliers

The Société de l'histoire et de la vie à Aubervilliers was formed in 1979 with the goal of preserving and promoting research on Aubervilliers past and present and archiving souvenirs and ancient documents while recording current events and documentation as well. Supported by subscription fees, the society publishes three bulletins a year. We sell books of local history authored by some of our subscribers. We have published dossiers on local topics such as: “Italians in Aubervilliers.” We have created several games and quizzes to help people get to know Aubervilliers. We have put on local photo exhibitions on a variety of themes, including schools and neighbourhood change, and have organized “city discovery” days. We collaborate on projects with MÉMOIRE VIVANTE DE LA PLAINE. We participate in several local initiatives.
