Hoc Momento is an international and interdisciplinary theatre company specializing in site-specific urban performances. By bringing together amateurs and professional actors, it aims to activate ephemeral communities to bring public spaces, derelict lots, and abandoned monuments to life. Hoc Momento has been in residence at la Plaine since 2017, where it performed “Montjoie! Saint-Denis!” at the Espace Imaginaire.
“Les Rencontres à la P.l.a.i.n.e.” connect neighbourhood actors to Latin-American actors who are members of the “teatro de vecinos” movement that has evolved in Latin America over the last few decades. The Rencontres provide a welcoming opportunity to bring together collective memory and cultural practices, local knowledge and knowhow, and artistic takes on social issues, research, and the production of knowledge.
Campus Condorcet and the La Plaine neighbourhood are the focus of the Plateau de la recherche-création, which uses theatre both as a means to translate scholarly discussion, cartography, and sociological observation into art, and as a means of producing knowledge in its own right. Site-specific theatrical experiences will be led by researchers, students, and artists from a variety of disciplines at both the Cultural and associative centre and in various high-traffic areas across campus.
