The GED adopted a new e-resource acquisition policy in January 2020. All EHESS, EPHE, INED, and FMSH subscriptions were renewed. Other purchases and subscriptions will augment these resources, which will be developed to complement the GED’s print collection.
ACCESS TO ELECTRONIC RESOURCES
The GED’s electronic resources are accessed via the GED catalogue.
Online subscription resources can be accessed by Campus Condorcet residents whose members institutions have registered them in the identity management system..
Students from member universities can access the GED’s electronic resources via the portals at their home institution (e.g Domino pour Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and Virtuose+ for Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle)
SEARCH FOR AN ONLINE RESOURCE IN THE GED CATALOGUE INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Search for a resource
Type the name of the e-resource, journal, or book you are looking for in the search bar.
Example: I’m searching for the revue Cahiers d'études africaines
Step 2: Filter your results
On the results page, click “Filter your results” in the column on the left.
There are several filters available, including “Availability,” which will show only items that have the status of “Available online” and/or “Open access” (freely available on the web).
Example: when I search for Cahiers d'études africaines, I limit my search results to resources that are available online.
Step 3: Read the item page
Click on the relevant result to access more information the item page.
Step 4: Choose how you want to access the resource
The “Consult online” section of the item page indicated the “Full text availability” of the resource and where to find the resource. Sometimes the same journal will be accessible via several different platforms, depending on when it was published.
Example: For Cahiers d'études africaines, I choose the database that offers the particular article I want to read. If I want to read a recent article, I click on the first link, which brings me to the publisher’s site (CAIRN)..
Step 5: Log in
Check that you are on the "Institutional account” page, then click “Connect”.
In the "Fédération Renater” connection window, choose your institution from the drop-down menu, then use your regular login and password in your institution’s sign-on window.
Step 6: Consult the resource
You will be automatically redirected to the item after logging in.
Example: I’m at the Cahiers d'études africaines on the Cairn website.
